Dr. Johnstone received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in 1971. In addition, he completed a training program in hospital dentistry at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles. Thereafter, he established a private practice of general dentistry in Westminster, California.
After being active in the periodontal study group at USC, Dr. Johnstone returned to full-time study in Advanced Periodontics at the University of Southern California, where he graduated in 1980.
Dr. Johnstone's private practice of periodontics and dental implants is located in Orange County, City of Tustin, in the same location for over 25 years.
Dr. Johnstone is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Orange County Dental Society (currently vice president) and the South Coast Periodontal Association.
In addition, Dr. Johnstone currently teaches the advanced periodontal and dental implant residents at Loma Linda University.
When not helping patients or teaching, Dr. Johnstone enjoys spending time with his wife Carol, and is very proud of his daughter, Jennifer.
